War technology underwent rapid evolution between the turn of the twentieth century and World War
II. World War II marked the turning point in terms of the way machinery, troops and supplies were moved and implemented as well as a turning point in such
technological developments as rockets and radar. World War II, in fact, is characterized quite extensively by the technological development that accompanied it. So too was the sentiments that
characterized the various issues of the war. Perhaps one of the most visible elements in the technological change characterized by World
War II is the fact that In World War I horses had been used extensively not only in the movement of goods and people but also in direct warfare.
Calvary troops and the use of the horse as means of transport had all but ended by World War II. The advent of reliable gasoline engines had made the
horse practically obsolete. Many other technological changes came about with world War II. Previous to that war the battleship, for example, had
come to be regarded as the ultimate offensive weapon. While Hitlers emphasis was on his ground and air forces in World War II, it can not be overstated that
