This paper reviews the article and then provides an overview of these central terms utilizing outside source materials. Review Reynolds (2002), in his article entitled "The Gas Between the Stars," identifies the interstellar medium as a much more dynamic and less fragmented medium than once thought. Reynolds (2002) argues that the space and gaseous entity that connects stars within a galaxy is constantly changing and the changes in this environment can impact the formation of stars. Reynoldss suppositions are based on some central principles of physics, including the theory of conservation of energy and the factors influencing the different states of matter. This article goes into the complex processes, by which stars are formed, exist and die and the impacts of the interstellar medium on star life. Reynolds (2002) outlines the process by which the interstellar medium changes over time. When stars exhaust their internal fuel, they die and release their matter into the area that flows between the stars. Many of these stars were larger than the Sun and Reynolds reflects on existing research regarding the nature of these stars. Bromm and Loeb (2003) applied Reynolds views to the assessment of the longevity of stars and the Sun and the impacts of the cooling and heating of hydrogen in the interstellar medium.
