However, not all those who have studied society and its development believe that the move away from a primitive society to todays social structure can be seen as positive. Jean-Jacques Rousseau is one of those that sees the development of society as the development of corruption that has lead to vices and evils within society. Rousseau looks at society within his works, and in his second discourse; "Discourse on the Origin of Inequality" outlines the way in which this occurred with the way that primitive communities subsequently developed through different stages. Metallurgy and agriculture were stages in this development that facilitate the development, the most development is seen as the idea of property that is the main cause of corruption in society which leads to the creation of money. The idea of Rousseau is that the natural state of man is one that is ideal, this is seen within the primitive societies. There is an interesting agreement with Hobbes, while Rousseau agrees that man, even in this state is immoral, he states that he does not believe man to be viscous or nasty at this stage. There is a natural balance with man and nature, man feeds his hunger and satisfies his need without the need to be vicious in the way seen today. The amorality is one that also indicates there are no real family ties in this society, mating takes place randomly, and then the mated partners split and move on. The downward trend begins when man starts to form societies. This begins when man starts to build huts.
