If the country is a non English speaking country then the teaching of English may be important to facilitate international trade and teacher may be aiming the teaching at different levels. To develop teachers that ate able to teach English as a second language effectively the teacher themselves need to be trained, regardless of what their native language is. It may be argued that teachers will be best suited to teaching English is they have had the opportunity to develop their skills in an English speaking country, for this sometimes it is argued age is an important factor as well as experience. This gives increased understanding not only the theoretical use of the language, but in the practical use. The role of a teacher is more than simply relaying facts to the student who will learn them in a repetitive fashion to repeat at will. The role has developed, now in teaching the tutor must ensure that lessons are not just presentations of facts, they should help the students understand the subject, and in doing they aid the students cognitive processes, not only to learn but to understand and further question the subject, with an increased desire to learn.
