As a personal philosophical statement the above lines from a poem by Digby Wolfe serve as a basis
for why anyone should begin work with children who depart from the norm. This poem especially evokes the feeling of hope, of belief in the inherent dignity of all human
beings, regardless of circumstances. When one works with the very young child with disabilities, it is so very easy to see how so very hard they try to do as
