The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is one example of endorsement I will be seeking from special interest groups, inasmuch as it represents a large demographic group where my health care reform will be focused. A series of town meetings is first on my list of must-do accomplishments, a critical component to achieve if I am to gain a significantly better understanding of what the constituency wants. Greater exposure will be gained by virtue of several public debates with my opponent. When the issues of age and experience are brought up along the campaign trail, I will not apologize for either, acknowledging instead that we live in a time that illustrates how "the fundamental values of the American people have remained constant and thats what we need to get the job done" (Brunswick, 2002). My approach will reflect a determined yet honorable campaign, something that is not always a focal point or priority in political circles. The issues are foremost in my mind, whereby I will be addressing political concerns as opposed to focusing upon the war being waged between Democrats and Republicans. The battle soon to be waged with the Republican incumbent will no doubt prove to be one of the tightest in the entire election; not only is my opponent popular with his constituency - representing primarily professionals and civil servants - but he has a lot of political correctness on his side by virtue of his being a Republican who supports Democratic opinion regarding the environment, health care, foreign policy and union ...
