Essay / Research Paper Abstract

5 pages in length. The perception of time to the Buddhists is not associated with the measure of time in typical fashion, but rather it incorporates an overwhelming sense of wholeness and expansion, which effectively transcends any mortal barriers placed upon its passage. There are significant differences between how time is perceived in Buddhism and that which is perceived by what is termed a "normal" basis. This sense of distinct timelessness – an impermanence that is in direct opposition to the rigid structure of its passage outside of the Buddhist realm -- has no proof of actuality; rather, it reflects an esoteric perspective of time and space that is supposed to apply to mortal beings. One might readily surmise that once out of this lifetime, the aspect of impermanence may exist, yet the fundamental essence mortal existence advances the very notion of limitations and perpetuity.
