Jump Start promises to be of immense and lifelong value to the children it will serve in Temecula, California in the San Diego School District. The purpose here is to identify the goals of the program and to establish a budget. Goals and Objectives Each broad goal of the program contains several objectives. The overall goal is to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of elementary students ages 8 - 12; there are several interim goals that will lead to achievement of the larger one. Table 1 identifies goals and objectives, including the direction of change sought in individual objectives; the area in which that change will occur; the population targeted for the change intervention; the degree of change sought; and the period of time in which the change should be apparent.
