a man of royalty and a man of honor. But, at the same time he is a man who is vulnerable where his love is concerned and he is convinced
that his wife is unfaithful, slowly going mad to a point where he kills her. The following paper examines three different character traits of Othello as seen through his development
in the play. Othello In the beginning of the play we see Othello as a very noble man who is not afraid to place his fate in the
hands of his new bride. He tells Desdemonas father and those that are against him to send for Desdemona, "And let her speak of me before her father: If you
do find me foul in her report, The trust, the office I do hold of you, Not only take away, but let your sentence Even fall upon my life" (Shakespeare
I iii). In these particular days men did not leave their fate in the hands of a woman, even a woman they loved. But Othello proves himself noble in doing
so, having confidence and resolve in the outcome, whatever it may be. He shows that he truly has faith in Desdemonas love and devotion to him and as such we
do not assume that he would be a man who was easily swayed against this woman he loves. But, as the play progresses we see his weaknesses, and we see
how he, and all others in the play, have great faith in the words of Iago. Everyone in the play seems to understand that Iago lies to everyone, but
