It is an occupation that involves more than just hand tools, but also an occupation that is highly technical and computerized. It is a very diverse and necessary occupation. The following paper examines the benefits of choosing the occupation of an auto mechanic. Occupation: Auto Mechanic "Automotive service technicians inspect, maintain, and repair automobiles and light trucks that run on gasoline, electricity, or alternative fuels such as ethanol" (U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007). They are professionals who must address the needs of older model cars and also address the needs of highly technological cars as well. "The increasing sophistication of automobiles requires workers who can use computerized shop equipment and work with electronic components while maintaining their skills with traditional handtools" (U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007). Such information clearly indicates that this particular profession is filled with opportunities to learn and become incredibly skilled. It is, as such, an occupation that can offer the individual a great deal of personal satisfaction in learning and succeeding in working with various automobiles. And, the fact that the industry of automobiles is likely to continue growing and changing, such satisfaction will only increase. With the profession of the auto mechanic, often referred to as an auto technician any more due to the computerized conditions and technology, another good aspect of the occupation is obtaining the education or skills. A person could simply start out working for a gas station that services cars, or a store that sells car parts and services cars and then move forward learning more and becoming a mechanic (eHow, 2007).
