                                                    The student could introduce the comparison between Hamlet and the Odyssey by pointing out that although there are a number of significant similarities between the two stories,  
                                                
                                                    there are also several areas in which they differ. For instance, one of the main themes of the Odyssey is the journey which Odysseus undertakes, and the way in which  
                                                
                                                    the people and events he encounters change him, and enable him to develop as a human being. Hamlet, on the other hand, takes place primarily in a single location, and  
                                                
                                                    the changes which Hamlet experiences are brought about by introspection - in other words, the way in which he explores his situation in his own mind.  
                                                
                                                    The student could point  
                                                
                                                    out, therefore, that in the Odyssey there is a great deal of action and movement, such as the sea voyages and the way in which Odysseus reacts to the people  
                                                
                                                    and entities which he meets, whereas in Hamlet there is a sense of stagnation and a lack of movement. It is Hamlets inability to act, even though he knows that
