is almost instinctive; almost everyone has a horror story handy about what its like to deal with the government, whether it be standing in line to renew a drivers license
or trying to deal with turning on or shutting off water. Government red tape is a fact of life, it seems. Although
technology is making some good strides to try to cut through some of the red tape, in some cases, the technology is little more than a Band-aid to try to
slap a little glamour on a long-term problem. Namely, a lot of governments simply dont operate very efficiently. With this in mind, this means that a lot of governments wont
change, no matter how many technological systems they might want to put into place. The purpose of this particular paper is two-fold.
First, to examine the literature out there regarding government bureaucracy and its existence, and the second to focus on the state of Connecticuts attempt to cut through its own red
tape with its ERP system, Core-CT. Its not uncommon for public sector agencies to begin turning to ERP systems in an attempt to streamline its operations. The question arises, however,
as to whether or not such methods can work in the long run. Though Core-CTs implementation is still underway, it is helpful to us to analyze how the certain phases
are doing so far and if the system is, indeed, helping the state better cut through its own red tape. Literature Review
