                                                    they use them to fill their cars gas tanks, heat their homes and cook their food. What most dont know is how fossil fuels are developed, refined, used and abused  
                                                
                                                    throughout the known world.   How does Fossil Fuel form?   	  Coal, oil and natural gas are the three primary forms of fossil fuels. The term  
                                                
                                                    fossil comes from the fact that these types of fuels are derived from the decayed organic material left behind by the dinosaurs millions of years ago. These fossil remnants form  
                                                
                                                    the basis for the production of the material which eventually ends up as fuel. The basic ingredient or material found in fossil fuels is carbon and it is this compound  
                                                
                                                    that often causes a great deal of the trouble with its usage. 	A brief overview indicates that fossil fuels formed when the dead and decaying trees and plants died, sank  
                                                
                                                    to the bottom of various bodies of water and began to form layers of peat. This peat was layered over the years with various other sedimentary materials such as sand,  
                                                
                                                    clay, silt, and mud.  Eventually, with the exception of the peat, everything turned to rock and the sheer weight of the mass on top of the peat increased the  
                                                
                                                    pressure. This pressure forced the water from it forming the raw form of coal, oil, or natural gas. The form of fossil fuel depended on where the peat was placed
