are some of the most substantial theorists regarding existentialism and postmodernism and their perspective can best be understood through a comparative view of their writings. Both Fredrich Nietzsche and Jean-Paul Sartre considered the nature of the individual and related the concept of individualism to the larger philosophical premises they assessed, including concepts like good and evil, and the link between man and the supernatural. These concepts were fundamental to their existential perspectives, and understanding the link between these two authors underscores their importance in the existential movement. Existentialism Sartre incorporated his existential philosophy in his literature, demonstrating many of the notions that he explicated through works like Existentialism and Humanism and Being and Nothingness. Friedrich Nietzsche, in his work Genealogy of Morals, considered the nature of good and evil and mans conflicts between beliefs and the concept of truth, as central philosophical developments relative to his notion of individualism. Nietzsche demonstrated that there is a distinctive difference between good and evil but this distinction is not based on whether Nietzsche himself believed that people have found these differences or the extent to which he provides the answer to the distinction, but instead whether he believed that there is a truth about the distinction between good and evil that is recognizable and notable. In order to understand the link between Nietzsches premise of the contrast in mans individual perspective and Sartres philosophical elements presented in literature, it is necessary to consider elemental themes developed within Sartres philosophical writings and reflect on their incorporation in his literature.
