Mothers who may not have worked when the father was still part of the family may now find themselves without benefit of the
husbands financial support, particularly when the instant economic strain of supporting a second household is thrust upon the same income that used to support just one. The financial burden
placed upon the mother can be tremendous in its residual impact, as well, inasmuch as her being away from home to earn a living also takes her away from her
children. As such, kids from fatherless families have more contact with baby sitters and daycare facilitators than their own mothers. Because there
is only one pair of hands to do the job of two, the stress level reaches new heights for both children and mothers in a fatherless family. The demands
inherent to raising kids, keeping up the house and holding down a job - to say nothing of having time for herself - creates a vacuum of tension that is
all-too-often inappropriately directed at the children; kids, too, in their attempt to process these monumental changes in their lives, will display undesirable behaviors of frustration toward their mother.
Inasmuch as they have not yet had the opportunity to become jaded with regard to relationships, children typically harbor a more traditional attitude toward staying
