to think that their form of government is best and that democracy should be upheld at all costs, even the cost of human life? What gives them the audacity to think in this manner? Perhaps it is because the central document that Americans uphold is the Constitution, a living document that supersedes all else. It has the power to oust prayer from the schools and to infiltrate the childrens minds with garbage simply due to freedoms of speech and religion. Although such freedoms are highly valued, and seen as inalienable rights that are thought to be self-evident, perhaps those rights come with a hefty price tag. Many are familiar with the idea that if one makes a deal with the devil, they will get immediate gratification but will pay for it later with something they hold dear. Although not a common notion, some have claimed that not only has the U.S. Constitution been called a charter of liberty but also a hellish pact with Satan. Why might someone say such a thing about the document many respect and uphold and even fight to the death to defend? Perhaps the last point provides a clue as to why someone might believe that the Constitution is somehow linked with a superior but evil being. Why would someone fight to the death for anything other than their God? If people regularly give their lives, and they do, for the sake of a secular nation, how can that be explained? Life is valued and in fact the only thing people truly possess. Without life there is nothing. If people give their lives for a cause, one would think it would be for a being that supersedes time and mortality, and not for a country that is just nice to live in. Thus, the ...
