The role of communication within this industry is important throughout the entire process; from the way a tourist attraction is marketed to the way that the tourists are communicated with while visiting the attraction, in person and though the literature and other experiential aspects such as signs and symbols that were present to guide the visitors (McCabe, 2008). In many instances the communication need to be more than just the passing on of information in an effective manner, there needs to be a clear message that will stimulate and support demand and then while at a the attraction to enhance the experience, as tourism is the selling of an idea and experience (McCabe, 2008). In the development of a communication strategy there is a requirement to transcend the cultural barriers that may exist and create communication methods that are not specific to only a single market or culture. In this paper we are going to recommend a strategy that focuses on images that will stimulate emotion, creating universal images that will be communication across a number of mediums in order to create appeal. Tourism may be a growing industry, but it is one that is made up almost entirely of discretionary spending, it is not an essential item, it may take place as a leisure activity, it may be the result of an educational activity, many schools will visit attractions, such as historical or science tourist attraction as part of their curriculum.
