own unique take on the ideas of knowledge and the existence of God and helps to provide food for thought on these intricate and highly personal matters. In studying
the philosophy of knowledge for example, one can clearly see that knowledge at first glance is not what it appears. How can one know if something is true, or even
that it exists? In respect to God, that has been a problem throughout the ages as while people believe in God by and large, there are only theories and no
physical proof of His existence. Finally, in addressing the idea of freedom, there is a great discrepancy in terms of what philosophers mean by the term across the board.
II. The Philosophy of Knowledge Knowledge has been a tricky topic, because one can argue that any premise used to discuss the subject is not known for sure.
How can one know anything for sure? Thus, the concept of knowledge itself becomes difficult to pin down. Kant is perhaps one of the most important philosophers when talking about
knowledge and where it comes from. His explanation suggests that there is a priori knowledge, or knowledge that is not learned. Man is thus born with intrinsic knowledge. The
term "a priori," means prior or prior to experience (Agassi, 1998). In Kants view, humans did not necessarily obtain all knowledge from experience, although that does not negate the premise
