Chiropractic treatment can easily be incorporated with conventional treatment as a result of its complementary approach to convalescence and preventive measures; in fact, it has gained renewed momentum - in part to the growing acceptance of professional organization memberships - where both conventional and holistic medicines have been successfully combined to treat a single injury. The effect of chiropractic treatment has shown an upsurge with respect to its acceptance among both the conventional medical community and the general public; once considered mere quackery, chiropractic has experienced a breakthrough in the United States like never before. While this particular CAM has not yet fully received its full worth with regard to far-reaching acceptance, there are now enough empirical works to support its validity. It can be readily argued how chiropractic as a complementary modality is far better received in todays global community (Kessler et al, 2001) but has not reached this place of acceptance without a great deal of criticism (Morgan, 2005). It is not difficult to see the disparaging differences between conventional and chiropractic treatment, although the two entities are highly successful in their own right for treating and rehabilitating patients through the efforts of their own belief systems. However, some argue that without the additional use of conventional physical therapy methods, many injuries would stand little chance of full rehabilitation. Practitioners of chiropractic believe the mind has significant influential power over the body, allowing and encouraging its convalescence through more alternative activity and less medicinal transmission.
