The following paper examines reproductive cloning v therapeutic cloning, arguing that ethically, and religiously, reproductive cloning is wrong, although therapeutic cloning is acceptable if done in a particular manner. Cloning "Cloning refers to the process of making a genetic duplicate of something that already exists. We often think of cloning in human or animal terms - for instance, Dolly, the cloned-sheep - however, single cells and genes can also be cloned" (Pregnancyinfo.net). While many people think that cloning has really only been around, been a part of the scientific community, for a short while the truth is that plants have been undergoing cloning in science for many decades and apparently the first animal that was ever cloned was in the 1950s and was a tadpole (Pregnancyinfo.net). However, it is perhaps also important to understand that while such practices were taking place it was not until recently that people began to become aware of such endeavors and it was not until recently that cloning appeared to stand on the horizon as a serious threat to many ethical concerns. "Reproductive cloning is performed with the express intent of creating another organism.
