B.C. the art we see from China ranges from ancient times to current times. With such a condition, and understanding something of the history of trade and cultural development in those regions of the world, we can assume that much of what influenced Egypt also influenced China in some ways. Yet, at the core of their art there is a stability, and a similarity, that seems to go beyond any cultural influence. In the following paper we examine the art cultures, comparing them and contrasting them, arguing that their inherent form of artistic approach is incredibly similar in simplistic line and coloring. China and Egypt The art of China dates accordingly with dynasties in ancient times. This is not disimilar to the artistic conditions of Egypt as well. In Egypt the art forms of the times were normally determined by a particular Pharaoh. For example, Nefrititis husband was an avid follower and reformer of the arts. It was his insistence that realism be played out more in art that brought about the glorious bust of Nefrititi, one of the oldest examples of Egyptian art known to man. In these respects we can see a similarity in the culture, and a similarity in the reigning powers influence over art. In addition, art was commonly used to glorify those in control at the time, a reality not uncommon to many cultures as it relates to forms of art. The two cultures also were similar in their portrayal of leaders, battles, and important events. We gain a historical understanding of the cultures through seeing their ancient art. With Egyptian art we stories inscribed in stone, in vases, and in pictures. With the Chinese we also see such portrayals in paintings and ceramic ware.
