Bearing this in mind the following paper presents a biography of the infamous Caligula. Biography "Gaius was born on August 31 in the year 12 AD. All sources indicate that he was probably born at the Julio Claudian resort of Antium. He was the third of six children born to Germanicus and Agrippina the Younger" and "was the grandson of the emperor Augustus on his mothers side and of Livia on his fathers" (Anonymous Caligula (37 AD to 41 AD), 2002; caligula.htm). Even as an infant he was often in the midst of a military life, for "As a baby he accompanied his mother and father on military expeditions in the north and became the love of the troops" (Anonymous Caligula (37 AD to 41 AD), 2002; caligula.htm). One account states that "The soldiers used to dress him in a miniature army uniform and little army boots (or Caliga) and paraded him around the camp" (Anonymous Caligula (37 AD to 41 AD), 2002; caligula.htm).
