the challenges of diversity are quite great for the educator. There are few public school classrooms which do not have at least one or more students with a disability that
makes learning difficult. It is the responsibility of educators to ensure that these students are accommodated and have access to the same level of learning potential that other students receive.
One method through which this can be achieved is through the use of assistive technology to compensate for learning disabilities and help students excel. This paper will explore the use
of such technologies for a variety of disabilities. This paragraph helps the student introduce the concept of assistive technology. The use of assistive technology in schools to facilitate learning in
students with disabilities is generally associated with positive results. However, in many areas of the world, the use of these technologies has not yet been widely adopted. Therefore, it is
important to address any existing barriers to the adoption of assistive technology in classrooms and work to overcome them. A 2010 study of more than twenty Turkish university students indicated
that there was a direct correlation between students perceptions of their own disabilities and their use of available computers and other assistive technology (Ari & Inan, 2010). As such, institutions
wanting to maximize the effectiveness of assistive technology for learning disabled students should work to promote an environment in which students with disabilities are feel capable and confident, and receive
