the year 2000, AI would be commonly used within many companies and structures and would be a significant asset to the world of technology. Turing developed a test to
determine if computers can process thought in the same way that humans do. Over the years, the Turing test has been utilized to challenge computer software creators and has
been the focus of the Loebner Prize, developed around the Turing test. Many have criticized the use of the test as a game for computer technology experts and
not an actual test for AI. Though the focus of the test is to produce data to support the independent thought of computers, the system developed by Turing has
been deemed simplistic and the human factor necessary for the completion of the test leaves too much to human subjectivity (Gunther, 1994). II. Turings
Development Turing did not begin his study of computers and mathematics with a focus on AI. He first developed a very logically based system for his equations by introducing
the concept of his Universal Turing Machine. The most important part of this development is that Turing demonstrated the infinite possibilities of his machines, only limited by the particular
algorithms utilized in their conception. Through this process Truing also created a set of designs and instructions for carrying them out. These computer processes were designed in tandem;
one can do the job of others if supplied with adequate information from the first (Hodges, 1983). This began Turings process of developing UI strategies and
forming hypothesis in regards to the uses and abilities of what would some day become UI. Turings machines were not just mathematical suggestions, but essential strategies in the initial
