Making Choices What causes people to make the choices they do? The choice of whether to marry someone requires much time and thought; the choice of whether to pick up a Coke or a Pepsi likely does not. Heather Pawlowski was an electrical engineer with National Semiconductor who would walk the aisles of retailers and wonder "why people bought different brands" (Boyle, 2005; p. 62).
