Essay / Research Paper Abstract

A 5 page paper discussing the relationship between utilitarianism and a specific quote from 'Warren Massacre' by Nagel. The line is examined, in detail, and is found to have many qualities that address the issue of utilitarianism. But the line also offers the reader a view into vague associations which possess the possibilities of being associated with other forms of thought as well. It is very much a line which is clearly open to interpretation and opinion. No additional sources cited.

For example, if Nagel had included in this line, a hint at travesties such as the Holocaust, the reader may well become more concerned with the moral issue which presented itself during the occurrence of said Holocaust. Nagel, by stating the reality coldly and crisply, insinuates that such horrid realities as the Holocaust are issues under consideration without ever saying so. It is clearly inferred, but in such a way as to provide the reader with a cold, somewhat detached, view of the realities.
