to business ethics. The authors who address the first method, involving envisioning “man's
economy, as a rule, is submerged in his social relationships,” are Polanyi and Peacock. The
second approach addresses the suggestion that market activity is self-regulating, and
therefore should be free all restraints other than market forces, and is endorsed by
Friedman, Carr and Hayek. All of the individuals mentioned have separate essays which
illustrate their individual approaches. The approaches are discussed separately, as well as
