It was his integrity, honesty and ability to work hard that generated Roosevelts aura of success, and time and time again he revealed to the world his greatness. Roosevelts greatness as both a person and a president was evidenced in many ways, such as his ability to use government as a platform for helping the people of this country, his ability to guide this nation steadfastly into the arena of world politics, and his Nobel Peace Prize, which was awarded to him for his efforts mediating the Russo-Japanese War. How Theodore Roosevelt Impacted American Government The life of Theodore Roosevelt was indeed one of intrigue and accomplishment. At just 43 years old, Roosevelt was the youngest man in American history to become president, and the energy and excitement that he had for life became readily apparent in his presidency as well (Theodore Roosevelt, 2003). What was so remarkable about Roosevelt was his attitude that he was a "steward of the people", and that it was his responsibility and obligation to act on behalf of what was good for the nation - using whatever legal means he had at his disposal (Theodore Roosevelt, 2003).
