realities that touch on different social classes, and different levels of spiritual awakening. Two of the most commonly heard terms relating to Hindu teachings are karma and varna. In the following paper we present an examination of the two, discussing their relationship to one another. In addition, the paper briefly examines what similarities may exist between archaic Greek religions, archaic Norse religions, and archaic Indian religion, as well as briefly examines what moksha consists of in relationship to the Brahmins. Karma "Hindus believe in the repetitious Transmigration of the Soul. This is the transfer of ones soul after death into another body" (Anonymous Hinduism: The worlds third largest religion, 2002; hinduism.htm). It is what we often refer to as reincarnation and it takes a very logical and predictable pattern of course in many ways. "This produces a continuing cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth through their many lifetimes. It is called samsara" (Anonymous Hinduism: The worlds third largest religion, 2002; hinduism.htm). With each life the individual accumulates something related to both good and bad deeds. The accumulated sum of these good and bad deeds is called karma. In addition to following one around, as a constant account of good and bad doings, it also determines how an individual or being will live their next life, and what lessons they may have to learn. "Through pure acts, thoughts and devotion, one can be reborn at a higher level. Eventually, one can escape samsara and achieve enlightenment" (Anonymous Hinduism: The worlds third largest religion, 2002; hinduism.htm).
