THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA The Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1911 and since that time has seen over 100 million boys go through its organization. That the BSA has a huge impact on the youth of America is an understatement. Only a few of those will retain the highest rank, that of Eagle Scout, but everyone comes away with scouting having gained something to help them within their lives. The experiences that boys gain from this organization will help them throughout their lives and shape their characters for the years to come. That in turn will help to shape what America becomes as these young men become future leaders and good citizens of the country. The Boy Scouts gives the boys some structure to their lives as well as teaching them valuable experiences that are learned in a fun and exciting manner. Working to complete various projects so that they can receive titles and work up through the ranks, these boys learn what it is like to work towards a goal and to do something about it to attain that goal (San Diego Business Journal B13).
