Autistic children vary by many degrees and as such any one method of teaching is not going to prove effective for all. As such more research needs to be done, and one such research involves teaching autistic children through pictorial self management as it involves life skills. The following paper offers a hypothetical research that addresses this topic. Abstract : Autism is a condition that seemingly more and more children are suffering from. It is also a condition that can have varying degrees or levels and as such requires many different teaching approaches, as well as learning approaches. One possible approach to teaching children with autism is to teach through unsupervised settings that utilize pictorial self management in relationship to learning life skills. Research indicates that pictures are often incorporated into various programs for teaching autistic children and this clearly indicates that the possible implications for teaching living skills through this method may well prove quite effective. The research, hypothetically conducted, studies several young preschool and kindergarten children who are taught through pictorial self management approaches 3 days a week. The research results, hypothetically, indicate that more research is needed in light of the fact that the children who received such instruction increased their understanding and ability to conduct living skills. Future study and research could well demonstrate this method of teaching as a very effective and productive one in terms of teaching young autistic children.
