Smart House that features a central networking structure composed largely of sensors and timers to control lighting, appliances, and power. The Smart House truly lives up to its name by being able to accomplish what just a few short years ago was considered unthinkable: Its cutting edge technology serves as "brains" that actually enables this structure to think (Wilson, 2007). Amazingly, smart home technology is within easy reach and can be found on the shelves of most electronics specialty or department stores (Wilson, 2007). A central personal computer is needed to operate programs and exert control over home automation (Wilson, 2007). For example, the home computer with an Internet connection can through X10 modules that are plugged into the wall can electronically communicate what appliances or lights need to be turned on and off by way of website (Wilson, 2007).
