An 18 page paper which discusses aspects of
religion as it involves the treatment and persecution of others who maintain different
beliefs. The argument presented is that which states persecution is always a reality when
involved with powerful belief systems, whether they be religious or otherwise. The paper
discusses the Roman treatment and perception of Christians, Orthodox Christians'
treatment and perception of heretics, Christian treatment and perception of Jews, and male
Christians' treatment and perception of female Christians. This is followed by a
comparison and contrast of the historical information, negative attributes, and a
contemporary issue which further indicates how persecution is part of any given society or
