What was not realized by either Jinny or her parents was that her public school classes were overfilled with more than thirty students each, and the teachers made little to no special attempts to make sure each individual was completely clear on the days assignments. Jinny could have always asked a question or two in class, but she was far too intimidated that the others would think her stupid for not understanding. Fact was, however, that almost no one else understood, either, but because they were not encouraged to interact, so they also kept to themselves. Renee, on the other hand, received her education from a private school, where students were nurtured and encouraged to perform to their utmost ability. Never did she ever feel threatened or intimidated, because the private school administration would not allow unruly behavior or discourage students from participation. While Renee and Jinny were the same age, Renees academic aptitude was at least two grades higher than Jinnys, a fact her parents attributed to the more protective and scholastic nature of private schooling.
