entry system. In a residential building the home units are separate and access is easily controlled, but where there are commercial premises, there are more complications and accountability issues. Each
unit may need to have different key holders, and with open common areas and potentially high value goods on show the use of IT may be seen as a way
of limiting and monitoring access (Fennelly, 2003). Access with individual cards will not only allow access to be controlled, in combination
with keys or access codes, but will facilitate a record of those who have accessed the building, creating a greater level of security. If there are any security breaches there
is a full record of who was in the building, not only will this help with the investigation it will also be a deterrent and a control (Fennelly, 2003).
Security may also be aided with the use of security cameras; these may have a duel purpose, to provide a system, of observations
and as a deterrent. The tying of the system with an IT system, will allow for a recorded to be kept for later use if there were an incident. However,
this may also be used in a more proactive manner in order to keep out any individual who are barred from the premise, such as causing trouble. The use of
