there were newspapers and radio, but the nation did its own thinking and they were not nearly as manipulated by the medias portrayal of the police. As the country has become more technology advanced, the media has also. People who do not watch TV or listen to the radio are bombarded with news over the Internet, and the newspaper. One does not have to look for news of the police brutality; it is there, glaring each person in the face. The media has an enormous amount of power. It should use that power with responsibility and caution. The media could be used to put police in a good light. The media can be very harsh and unyielding. It can be very manipulative in that the owners of the different forms of media can skew the news to the way it best serves them, which is generally for more readers or viewers. We are bombarded daily by the media. Newspapers, television, and radio programs abound, and bombard individuals with a certain perception of such issues as the one of police brutality, which in many instances has been one of the biggest topics of discussion. It is difficult to ascertain what the truth is with all of the media hype going on. Media is a two-edged sword. Without media, there would be little if any information given.
