Prejudice, discrimination and blatant acts of racism are not uncommon in confrontations between police officers and minority individuals. In some instances the minority may be Asian or Native American, or of another racial minority. The overwhelming instances of police abuse of authority as the result of racial prejudice in the United States, is against blacks and Hispanics.
