The design of the building also has to meet the accessibility standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act 1990, in addition to this any facilities that are federally funded or owned also need to comply with the GSAs ABA Accessibility Standard for Federal Facilities (Carr, 2011). As the facility is a healthcare facility it is highly likely that these aspects will already be seen as an essential part of the design.
