higher education environments and to produce highly educated graduates is vital. Unfortunately, recent trends would seem to suggest that many universities throughout the United States are experiencing extreme difficulties in
retaining international students. As international students continue to make up a sizable portion of the higher education demographic within the United States, it is essential for universities to comprehend and
assess the factors related to this failure to retain such students. Only then can advancements be made at the organizational level that will drive the goal of successful retaining of
all students and an overall higher quality of education. This paper will attempt to examine these contributing factors to non-retention of international students through the lens of qualitative research using
both triangulated methodology and an appeal to established literature. This paragraph helps the student explore the concept of qualitative research as a means to introduce the scope and purpose
