Indeed, sociologists have invested considerable energy in understanding the evolution of these religions and the impact of these changes on our culture as a whole. Consequently they have devised an extensive terminology to describe the changes which they observe. Postmodernism, as the term would suggest, is a subsequent stage to modernism but it is a term which encompasses a considerably broader aspect of society than religion alone. Perhaps one of the most interesting and potentially devastating implications which has resulted in response to postmodernity is that of globalization and its consequent contributions to world politics and economics.
