This is a course that will be useful to any student that will be undertaking work which will require them to find out information for themselves, so this is a skill useful to all degree students, but it will be targeted at student in their last couple of years when the research skills will be needed to most with the need to undertake final year projects or dissertations depending on the course they are following. The course will be taught in the library, near to the research resources and will not be targeted at any particular subject; instead it will be targeted purely as the different types of research methods and skills that the student will be able to use, regardless of their chosen subjects. This paper will consider how the course can be marketed and targets by which it can be measured will be set. 2. Communications Mix It has been well known for a long time that it is not a product that sells, but a perception. The consumer does not buy the goods, but the benefits the goods bring, Kotler (2003) argues that for any goods or services purchased it is the facility that it gives the user that is the motivation.
