According to Gardner and Martinko (1996), the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is being used increasingly in order to study the relationships between "psychological types and managerial attributes, behaviors, and
effectiveness" (Gardner & Martinko, 1996, 45). An example of this MBTI formula follows. A person with the profile of E
(Extroversion) S (Sensing) F (Feeling) J (Judging), according to the MBTI Team Building method, has many qualities that could be beneficial in helping a team. It depends on the
individuals ability, and that of the team members as well, to bring out his/her strengths and curb his/her weaknesses. Most of the aspects of this profile can be very
helpful in a team environment. A person that has the profile ESFJ is an extroversion, sensing, feeling, and judging as his/her qualities.
The extrovert tends to focus on the outer world. Directing their attention and energy outward, this person receives his/her energy from events, interactions, and experiences that are of an
external nature. The sensing person prefers taking in data through the senses, such as the ears, eyes, and other senses. This person
tends to excel at the recognition of the practical realities of situations. The feeling person prefers to use their feelings or emotions in their making of decisions.
The judging person prefers a orderly planned, regulated and controlled lifestyle. An ESFJ personality type could help
