One of the most eye-opening attributions that Garbarino makes with regard to youth violence is the overwhelming presence of racial intolerance that continues to permeate society. "Given our societys
history of institutional and interpersonal racism, it would be naive to think that poor minority kids automatically get the same attention and concern as white and middle-class kids do" (Garbarino
