United States, even without low cost health care, the health if the citizenry is rather good. People who end up in the emergency room will not have to worry about not being able to access care. If a life or death issue emerges, the people will be treated well. Yet, the same cannot be said for developing countries. There is a general lack of health care in these struggling nations. One can imagine that people who live in these poor countries have trouble simply getting enough to eat. Yet, the lack of health care exacerbates morbidity and mortality. People get sick and die quite often as they did during an earlier era when medical care did not exist. For some in these devastated countries, medical care for all intents and purposes, does not. While people are again worried about their own health care conundrums, there is a bigger world where simple health initiatives can mean a great deal. What should be done about this crisis? Can social work practice make a difference in respect to this problem? II. The Problem of Healthcare in Developing Countries It may be true that developing counties have the worst of everything as far as their infrastructures are concerned, but health care is something that has severe ramifications. That is, the lack of health care can have tragic consequences.
