It is further the second-largest water bottling company after Nestle (2001). The bottling of water is a trend that is also attributable to the peoples desire for a healthful lifestyle. Diageo, along with Frances Pernod Ricard, bought the spirits business of Canadas Seagram from Vivendi Universal recently but an earlier Anglo-French effort failed when a joint bid by Danone and Cadbury Schweppes was made for Nabisco (2001).
