While this individual borrows aspects of leadership from a few theoretical approaches (Coleman, 2000), he preserves the very foundation of what it means to guide people to success as found in Kouzes and Posners Exemplary theory: 1) model the way; 2) inspire a shared vision; 3) challenge the process; 4) enable others to act; and 5) encourage the heart (Brown, 2002, p. 2). Clearly, people will not respect or perform for a leader who cares little about anything besides his own agenda; instead, they may ultimately sabotage the very objective this detached leader seeks to achieve. This person illustrates how leadership is a very simple process that is all too often complicated by individual character flaws. In short, the fundamental principles of good leadership are to think outside of the established status quo and embrace a holistic, nurturing attitude from every angle.
