Essay / Research Paper Abstract
An 11 page paper discussing some ways homeowners can resist home mortgage foreclosure. There has been a wave of foreclosure increase in the closing years of the 1990s as there was in the same period of the 1980s and into the early 1990s as American businesses downsized and highly-paid professionals began losing homes to foreclosure. There was a difference in attitude among lenders—most were willing to negotiate in the 1980s, but that attitude has taken a decidedly negative turn in the late 1990s. Resisting foreclosure is more difficult now than in the past, but it is to the homeowner's advantage to fight the action and a variety of means are available. Bibliography lists 20 sources.
