crime scene and recognizing potential evidence often lead to the responsible persons. The time and effort that is given to a crime scene, then, can often be the difference between
finding the answer to the riddle, or enables the guilty party to get away with his/her crime. A phone call was placed to
the station at 6:31 a.m. on March 28, 2004 and a unit was dispatched to 4561 Drury Lane on the Eastside. A distraught neighbor met the officers. Upon entering the
home a foul odor was obvious. Officers radioed for backup and proceeded into the home. In the far back bedroom the first officers found a womans partially nude body, tied
to the doorknob on the door. The second officer radioed for an ambulance, but it was evident, they stated, by the amount of odor and the coloration of her skin
that she had been deceased for some time. When CSI arrived on the scene they found that the interior of the home, with the exception of the back bedroom
was immaculate. The drapes were drawn, the lights were all shut off. An initial walk through was done to determine boundaries and search quadrants. Physical evidence possibilities are assessed and
gloves were donned. The narrative description would be done next, including the fact that the womans partially nude body had been severely beaten. The first and second officer on the
scene were questioned and their information added into the narrative. The photographers were allowed into the house to photograph the back bedroom and the other quadrants set up by the
team leader. Then a sketch is made of the body as well as the layout of the house. Judging by the
