When any of these denture-cleansing products are put to use, the dental appliance must first be removed from the individuals mouth prior to cleaning. "Four out of 10 older Americans wear dentures. Dentures do exactly the same work as natural teeth. Dentures affect our physical, mental, and social health" (Carter, 1999, p. 411). In spite of the fact that ones natural born teeth no longer present an oral problem that is no reason to think that prosthetic denture appliances do not require the same - if not more - dedication to care. Teeth are what keep the jaw aligned, helping to maintain proper shape and function. Once permanently removed, dentures fill this void as a means by which to continue necessary support. "Many people used to think that once they lost all their natural teeth their worries were over. This is not the case.
