while many employees lost their life savings in the company stock makes people wonder how ethical corporate America really is. In fact, corporations have been painted as unethical in recent times and this reputation is unfortunate. Despite a few problems, it seems that everything points to the idea that corporate ethics is alive and well. Not only are companies paying attention to ethics for a myriad of reasons, but the general public is interested too. In fact, as many as 96% of 200 people who responded to a survey agreed or strongly agreed that all companies should have ethics programs or practices (Loeb 11). Not only that but more than 78% of respondents believed that companies should mandate ethics training for all of their employees (11). This suggests that either ethics is not inborn, or that people simply believe that many others are corrupt and need the company to reinforce ideas pertinent to honesty and trust. McGarvey notes that with the e-business revolution, things are changing in the business world and this is true not only in terms of technology but also in respect to redefining the way business is done (43). The B2B world for example has e-markets, and is focused on the customer(43). It further has deeply integrated corporate relationships that drives businesses and the author goes on to say that the key to surviving in this new paradigm is to adapt to a modern, corporate-competition model, something that presents significant challenges to traditional business ethics (43).
